Papertrey Ink's 8th Anniversary Challenge: Day 8

The challenge today is to make a blue ombre card. I used the Dot Spot stamp set for my ombre background and stamped the images in Enchanted Evening, Blueberry Sky, and Spring Rain ink. The banner image is from the Bountiful Banners stamp set and dies and stamped in Spring Rain ink.  The finished card front was attached to a Spring Rain card base. Thanks for looking!

Papertrey Ink's 8th Anniversary Challenge: Day 7

The challenge today is to use only metallics and neutrals in a card.  I pulled out my Watercolor Wonder stamp set and embossed a few of the images with gold embossing powder.    I cut the Wonderful Words: Hello die using true black cardstock and attached it with foam tape.

I liked the way the card turned out, but wish I would heat embossed the images on a separate card front and then attached it to the base. The base warped a little when I applied the heat gun. Oh, well. Thanks for looking.

Papertrey Ink's 8th Anniversary Challenge: Day 5

The challenge today is to 'spring' into action by using a stamp set that has never been inked yet. I had a couple of sets to choose from - Ha!  Propose a Toast won the toss since I needed to make an anniversary card for my parents, and this seemed an appropriate choice.
My card base is Soft Stone and the coordinating patterned paper. I stamped the images using Versafine black ink and Melon Berry ink.  I also used PTI twill ribbon(Melon Berry) to wrap around the base.

Papertrey Ink's 8th Anniversary Challenge: Day 4

Today's challenge is to 'build' a bouquet using multiple floral stamp sets. I decided to combine four floral sets for my flowers and leaves(Mini Blooms, Bigger Blooms, Bold Bouquet and Natural Beauties) and a fifth set for my sentiment (Reasons to Smile).

I used Summer Sunrise patterned paper for the card front and the Tipped Tops dies as the base for my bouquet. The leaves were stamped in Simply Chartreuse ink and the flowers were stamped using Summer Sunrise, Hibiscus Burst, and Aqua Mist ink.

Papertrey Ink's 8th Anniversary Challenge: Day 2

Today's challenge is to make a card inspired by Maile Belles. I love perusing through Maile's blog and she inspires MANY of my cards.

I chose this card as my inspiration for this challenge:

My finished card:

I stamped the background using an image from Background Basics:Retro. The flower and leaves were stamped using the Filled with Joy stamp set in Raspberry Fizz and Simply Chartreuse. And the sentiments (from Heart Prints)was stamped in Smokey Shadow ink on the die cuts from the double ended banner dies.

Papertrey Ink's 8th Anniversary Challenge: Day 1

It's time for Papertrey Ink's 8th Anniversary celebration! Today's challenge is one of my favorites. PTI has provided a variety of color combinations and sketch recipes for mixing and matching to create a card.

I chose this color combo and sketch

And the result

My rectangular background piece was stamped using the above PTI ink colors and the Ombre Builders stamp set. I die cut a butterfly from the Beautiful Butterflies Dies and stamped the coordinating image with aqua mist ink.  I tried to use my Copic Markers to add a little shadowing, but it didn't turn out as I had pictured in my brain. Oh well!  I stamped the sentiment from Stylish Sentiments: Birthday onto a double ended banner diecut and placed it under the raised butterfly image.  After the picture was taken, I added a bit of Wink of Stella to the butterfly for a bit more sparkle--it definitely helped :)  Thanks for looking!

PTI Color/Sketch Recipe Challenge- Card #2

I'm back with another Color/Sketch Recipe Card for PTI's 7th Anniversary Celebration.  My son is going to a birthday party today and was needing a birthday card.  A perfect opportunity to use another color combo/sketch recipe.

I chose this sketch and color combo (it seemed the most masculine)

I used a Pure Poppy base with color strips from the Summer Sunrise and Simply Chartreuse Patterned Paper Packs. Another strip has Orange Zest layered on Smokey Shadow cardstock.  The sentiment is from Stylish Sentiments: Birthday and is stamped in Smokey Shadow ink.
